Mercedes-Benz 300 CE-24 Sportline

Description

A 300 CE-24 the way they were meant to be: manual gearbox, factory Sportline and never modified. Delivered new in the Netherlands in 1991, it stayed with its first owner for almost thirty years.

The M104 idles smoothly and pulls cleanly from low revs. The timing chain and front suspension have recently been renewed.

Provenance and history

• Delivered new in the Netherlands, April 1991.
• One owner until 2019, then an enthusiast in Brabant.
• Service book complete, 31 stamps up to 2016, invoices thereafter.

Recent work carried out

• Timing chain and tensioner replaced at 151,000 km.
• New front dampers and springs, Sportline specification.
• Air conditioning converted to R134a, cools well.
• Four new Michelin tyres, 2024.
